
Falcons Complete Sweep in Utah with 6-4 Win

West Valley City, Utah - Kenny Bernard's four-point night led the Fresno Falcons to a 6-4 win over the Utah Grizzlies on Sunday in front of 3,647 fans at The E Center. The win extends the Falcons winning streak to four games, and improves their season record to 33-15-8.
The Falcons outhsot the Grizzlies 16-6 in the first period, scoring four times en route to a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Oren Eizenman opened the scoring, converting on a penalty shot 3:32 into the contest for his team-leading 27th goal of the season.
Josh Prudden continued his strong series, scoring his second goal of the season at 6:37. Prudden took a pass from Bernard in the left-wing circle and snapped a shot past goaltender Mike Mole to give Fresno a 2-0 lead.
Stuart MacRae then scored back-to-back-goals to stretch the lead to 4-0. MacRae scored his first Fresno goal of the season, and ninth overall on the year, at 8:56, sliding a shot past Mole from the right-wing circle.
MacRae added a power-play goal 14:51, beating Mole high to the short side for his second of the period.
Utah got on the scoreboard 3:18 into the second period on a Rob Sirianni tally, but the Falcons answered right back 46 seconds later when Matt Quinn snapped a shot past Mole from the right-wing circle for his 10th goal of the season.
The Grizzlies made it 5-2 at 6:24 when Ryan Kinasewich beat Jake Moreland with the rebound of his own shot, then pulled within two at 15:42 when Sirianni scored his second of the night on a power-play opportunity.
Kinasewich scored his second of the night 10:41 into the third period, beating Moreland with a wrist shot from the right-wing circle, pulling Utah within one goal.
Bernard iced the game, scoring into an empty net with 58.1 seconds left to set the final.
Fresno returns home on Tuesday, hosting the Idaho Steelheads at 7:00 p.m. It's Kids' Day at the Rink, presented by The Fresno Bee, ABC 30, Little Caesar's, and Educational Employees Credit Union. The first 1,000 kids 12 and younger in attendance receive a free growth chart. Falcons' players will be wearing special kids' day jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game to benefit Children's Hospital of Central California. It's also a Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Carl's Jr., KMPH Fox 26, and KRZR 103.7 FM. Fans can visit any area Carl's Jr., and pick up a voucher allowing them to purchase one ticket at regular price and get a second ticket for free.
