
Falcons announce date of 2004-05 home opener

Springfield, MA â The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that the club will play their 2004-05 home opener at the Springfield Civic Center on Saturday, October 23rd. The game will kick off the home schedule of the franchise's 11th campaign and 1st under a new affiliation with the Stanley Cup-champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Falcons' opponent for the home opener has not yet been determined.
"As requested, the AHL has scheduled us to begin the season on the road. The additional time will give the contractors who are working on the arena renovations time to get the Civic Center ready for the season," said Falcons president and general manager Bruce Landon.
Renovations to the Civic Center are scheduled to be completed prior to the Falcons' 2005-06 season.
Season ticket packages for the 2004-05 season are currently on sale. Adult full season ticket prices for the 2004-05 campaign remain unchanged for the third straight season at $440 each. Youth (age 12 and under) full season tickets are available for $360. Adult and youth partial season ticket plans as well as flex packs are also on sale.
