Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Express made minor league baseball history again Saturday, breaking their own all-time Texas League and Double-A attendance records.

The 9,806 that attended Saturday's game pushed Round Rock's season mark to 676,593, bettering the previous record of 670,176, set by the Express in 2002.

The Express eclipsed the record in 2001 as well, with 668,792 seeing the Express.

This is the fourth time in as many years that Round Rock has broken the Texas League and Double-A records. Round Rock started the tradition in the franchise's inaugural year in Central Texas in 2000 when 660,110 came through the turnstiles.

However, this year is the most impressive so far, considering that the Express were 46-92 coming into Saturday's game and will end the year out of the playoffs for the first time in the team's history.

With one game left, Round Rock has a chance to significantly improve on the number. After Saturday's game, the Express are averaging 9,806 – exactly the number of fans at The Dell Diamond Saturday - and project to bring in 686,420 after Sunday's season finale.

Round Rock topped its own record in 2001 by 8,692 and by 1,384 last year.
