Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Express pitcher Josh Banks has been added to the Pacific Coast League roster for next week's Triple-A All-Star Game, the league office announced late Tuesday. The game will be played Wednesday, July 14, at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pa., hosted by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the International League. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. CDT; the game will be broadcast live on the MLB Network.

Banks replaces Brian Bogusevic on the PCL roster as Round Rock's representative for the game. Bogusevic, who originally was selected to the team as a reserve outfielder, will undergo a minor medical procedure Monday morning that precludes him from participating in the game. Bogusevic will not miss any regular-season games, returning to action when the Express resume their schedule Thursday, July 15, at Albuquerque.

A second-round draft pick by the Toronto Blue Jays out of Florida International in 2003, Banks has been the stalwart of the Express rotation this season. At 8-6, he is tied for sixth in the PCL in wins; he also ranks sixth in the league in ERA (2.91), second in innings (105.0) and second in WHIP (1.15). Banks is second in the PCL and fourth in Triple-A with a 1.66 ERA since June 1.

Daren Brown of the Tacoma Rainiers will skipper the PCL All-Star club, which features some of the top hitters and pitchers in all of Minor League Baseball. Thirteen players were elected to the squad by the balloting of the clubs' field managers and general managers, members of the media and online fan voting, while 17 were selected by the Pacific Coast League office. Each club has at least one representative on the team.

Round Rock returns to action Wednesday night with the finale of a four-game series against the Memphis Redbirds at The Dell Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT.
