
Express Come Back for 3-2 Win

Reading, PA - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, scored two third period goals earn a 3-2 comeback victory over the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Center on Wednesday night.
RW Chaz Johnson got the scoring started in the opening frame, as he struck shorthanded for the Express. A pass jammed Reading D Denny Urban, and Johnson knocked the puck away for a breakaway goal at 10:02. It was the only goal in the period, but there were two fights, as F Bobby Robins dropped the gloves with Reading's LW Dan Scrymgeour and D Scott Wietecha battled with LW Matt Schepke. There were 30 minutes in penalties assessed to the two teams in the first period.
The 1-0 score remained until 4:04 were left in the second period. Reading LW Chad Painchaud managed to slide a pass through traffic and D Marvin Degon tapped a shot past G Rob Nolan to tie the game. Reading scored again 2:02 later, as a power play shot from the top of the slot by D Denny Urban was deflected by Schepke, granting Reading a 2-1 lead at the end of the middle frame. Chicago lead in shots after the period by a 28-13 margin.
The Express poured on the pressure in the third period, and tied the game just before the halfway point of the final frame. LW Blair Riley collected a rebound from a Chaz Johnson shot and finished the play to knot the score at 2-2. F Bobby Robins then deposited his third goal of the season at 17:39 on a powerful move around the goal crease to lead the Express to a 3-2 win.

Notes:
Chicago played their first of six straight games away from home... C Yannick Tifu served his one game ECHL suspension, and is eligible to return to the lineup on Friday... D Scott Wietecha was activated from the 21-day IR and played his first regular season game for the Express. He received a fighting major in the first period... Chicago is now 6-0-0-0 when scoring the game's first goal... G Rob Nolan earned his 50th professional win... Chicago's 47 shots marked their highest total in that category of the season.
The Express play their next five games on the road before returning home to battle the Kalamazoo Wings at the Sears Centre Arena on December 7.
