Explorers earn 11-1 win

Sioux City-----Jorge Delgado had six RBI's, including a three-run home run as the Explorers pounded out 17 hits in an 11-1 win over Rockland here Wednesday. Delgado's three-run home run in the first inning gave the Explorers a 4-0 lead and the home town X's never looked back in winning their second straight over Rockland out of the Can-Am League. Brandon Newton had a four-hit game while Kris Sanchez and Delgado had three hits each. Explorers righthander Jason Jarvis pitched eight innings, striking out four and scattering seven hits in picking up his six win of the season. 15 of the 17 hits and all 11 runs were charged to losing hurler Bobby Blevins, now 8-7 for the season. Besides the four runs in the first inning, the Explorers put the icing on the cake when they scored four runs in the sixth inning and coasted to their second straight win over the Boulders. The final game of the three game series will be Thursday at Lewis and Clark Park with game time 7:05.
