
Ewing, Jr. and Brown lead Reno over Flash

RENO, Nev. - Patrick Ewing, Jr. and Damone Brown each recorded a double-double to lead the Reno Bighorns to a 104-93 NBA Development League victory over the Utah Flash Saturday at the Reno Events Center.
Reno improved to 10-16 and snapped a four-game Utah winning streak. The Flash dropped to 14-10 and continues it three-game road swing at Bakersfield on Tuesday. The loss was just the third for the Flash in the last 11 games.
Brown and Ewing, Jr. scored 26 points apiece, with Brown making 9-of-16 from the floor and Ewing, Jr. 9-of-17. Brown collected 12 rebounds and Ewing, Jr. had 11 boards. Gerry McNamara came off the Reno bench to score 20 points. Russell Robinson chipped in 10.
The Flash carried momentum from a 36-point victory at Reno (118-82) on Friday and jumped out to a 31-23 lead following the first quarter and held a narrow 49-48 halftime lead on Saturday. With the score tied at 65 with 3:01 left in the third period, the Bighorns used a 13-3 run to close the third and effectively put the game away.
McNamara scored 11 of his 20 points in the final 2:36 of the third quarter, including a trio of three-pointers. The Bighorns stretched the lead to as many as 17 points in fourth quarter. The Flash pulled to within eight (99-91) with 1:25 to play, but wouldn't get any closer.
Dontell Jefferson scored 21 points to lead the Flash. Andre Ingram and James Lang chipped in 16 and 13 points, respectively. Ronald Dupree and Eddie Ard had 12 each, while Bennet Davis rounded out double figure scoring with 11.
