
Erie over Jam in block party

(Bakersfield, Calif.) - Trey Johnson scored a game-high 24 points in a losing effort as the Erie BayHawks defeated the Bakersfield Jam 91-84 at the Rabobank Arena.
After trailing the entire first half, the Jam opened the third quarter with a go-ahead three-pointer by Terrance Thomas to take the first lead of the game and kick off a back-and-forth half. Both teams traded baskets throughout the fourth quarter and combined for 15 blocked shots on the night including four apiece by Bakersfield's Nick Lewis and Erie's Jackie Manuel.
Ivan Harris of the BayHawks connected on a fade away jumper with 1:28 left in the game to score the go-ahead basket and give Erie the lead for good.
Erik Daniels led the visiting BayHawks with 22 points, the most of Erie's six players scoring in double digits. Thomas contributed a double-double for the Jam with ten points and ten rebounds in the loss.
Bakersfield falls to 15-10 on the year while Erie improves to 12-16 on the season.
The Jam will host the Utah Flash at the Rabobank Arena on February 3rd at 7:00pm.
