
Everett wins over Boise

EVERETT, Wash. - Fueled by four home runs, the Everett Aquasox ran their win streak to four games, defeating the Boise Hawks, 12-5, before 2,015 fans at Memorial Stadium.
Kevin Mailloux hit two long balls and scored three times, while Steven Baron and Kevin Rivers added homers for Everett, who has a league leading 43 bombs.
Mailloux hit his first homer to center in the first to stake the Frogs to a 1-0 lead, with RBI single by Hawkins Gebbers and Evan Sharpley in the third pushing the margin to 3-0. A solo homer by Mailloux started a four-run fifth, with Baron rapping a two-run shot to cap the frame.
Boise got back in the game with a three-run seventh, keyed by an RBI triple from Kyung-Min Na, but Everett added five more runs in the final two frames to put the game away.
Anthony Fernandez went six and two-thirds innings to pick up the win for the Aquasox, while John Housey worked around two hits to pick up his first save. Baron went 3-for-4 with a triple, homer, and two RBI and Mailloux adding a 3-for-5 evening with three runs scored in the win.
Elliot Soto went 3-for-5 in the loss for the Hawks, who had 13 hits in the defeat.
Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night at 8:05 p.m. (MT) with Eduardo Figueroa meeting Eric Thomas.
