Eureka, Ice Dogs re-sign Goldie

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that winger Ash Goldie has agreed to terms for the 2006-2007 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 5' 9", 170-pound native of London, ONT, was named to the ECHL All-Rookie All Star Team as he compiled 22 goals, 15 assists, for 37 points in just 46 regular season games for the Ice Dogs. Ash also added seven points in seven playoff games for Long Beach last season. Prior to his rookie season, Goldie played 160 games over four seasons at Michigan State University and scored 37 goals, 56 assists, and 93 points.

"Goldie was a terrific player for the Ice Dogs last season," said Managing Partner/Owner Steven Bash. "I'm very glad Ash has decided to stay here in Long Beach and continue to progress in his professional hockey career."

"This is another big signing for us," said Head Coach and General Manager Rick Adduono. "Ash is a great playmaker that has special hands in front of the net. Goldie scored 22 goals last season and I expect him to surpass that number next season. He will be a tremendous asset to the Ice Dogs next season."

"I look forward to building on my rookie season here in Long Beach", said Goldie. "Hopefully, I can stay healthy and have even a bigger sophomore year for the Ice Dogs this season."
