Etihad Player of the Month: Luis Barraza Secures April Award

New York City Football Club is delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Luis Barraza has been awarded Etihad's Player of the Month for April.

The shot-stopper has enjoyed a breakout season in 2023 after assuming the starting role. Barraza joined NYCFC jn 2019 via the MLS SuperDraft following three impressive seasons with the Marquette Golden Eagles.

Bringing his talents to the Five Boroughs, Barraza produced several impressive saves in April, including a point-blank stop during the 3-1 victory against FC Dallas at Citi FIeld.

A relibale pair of hands between the sticks, Barraza's ability on the ball also aided the team's attempts to build out from the back. His play helped NYCFC claim eight points from the month of April, with the native of Las Crucas, New Mexico, continuing to grow into his role.

A worthy winner, the Club would like to congratulate Luis on this achievement.
