Scouting the Opposition - While Inter Miami is currently on a winning streak of its own, Miami's fortune only just recently turned around in their favor. Miami won its first two matches of the season against Montreal and Philadelphia, but then went on a six-match losing streak without scoring a goal in five of those matches. Head Coach Phil Neville's squad has scored two goals in each of Miami's last three games against the Columbus Crew, Atlanta United, and the New England Revolution.
"I think if you look at MLS in general, it's so easy after a defeat or two to get caught on that flip side of that momentum and emotion," said head coach Gary Smith. "Every single weekend is so challenging and is so difficult, so you can quickly go from being on a really good run to going on a slide. I'm sure it coincided with injuries, some difficulties around the team, shape and having to change some stuff, I'm sure.
"What I do know right now is that Phil is a very thoughtful guy. I think we're seeing a side that are just coming to terms with those changes, whether its players, shape, and bodies in the group, and they're now on a good run again."
Defending the Castle - Nashville SC returns to GEODIS Park looking to extend its current form at home this season. The Boys in Gold haven't lost at GEODIS Park since April 15, having four wins, one draw, and 10 goals scored during that time. It's the first time Nashville SC has gone on a four-match home win streak across all competitions in the club's history.
"We expect Wednesday [to be] a really difficult game like always, but we know we are [a] really good side when we play at home the last five games," said midfielder Aníbal Godoy. "We start good. I think this is the key for us. If we start the first 15-20 minutes good, I think we have a better chance to win the game."
