Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release
Colorado Springs, CO - Hot of the heels of a convincing 4-0 victory against Reno over the weekend. The Switchbacks travel to face Sacramento Republic FC to kickoff the USL's national broadcast schedule in the USL Game of the Week featured on ESPN.
The Switchbacks have had success against Sacramento, having won three meetings and drawing twice in previous meetings against the California side. Sacramento Republic FC will be looking for their first win of the series after falling in the Switchbacks home finale on ESPN3 last year and blowing a late lead against the Switchbacks at home after Pascal Eboussi scored a stoppage-time goal to come away with a point at Papa Murphy's Park.
"They have experienced players who know how to play," Head Coach Steve Trittschuh told Roland Vargish. "[Jeremy] Hall, [Villyan] Bijev, [Cameron] Iwasa, Adam Moffat...these are all good, experienced players and they're very tough to beat, especially in Sacramento. We must keep improving what we can game-by-game and look to finish this trip with a strong performance in a tough place to play."
The Switchbacks will be featured in one additional USL Game of the Week when they travel to take on San Antonio FC on July 25th on ESPNU.
The Switchbacks will return home to face Seattle Sounders FC 2 for 90's Night with the second piece of the poster series puzzle courtesy of The Gazette. Tickets start at just $12 and are available here. Fans 21 and older can get $1 beer the first 30 minutes when gates open at 5:00 PM.
