Amadou Dia Named to USL Team of the Week

PHOENIX - Phoenix Rising defender Amadou Dia was named to the United Soccer League Team of the Week for Week 5 of the 2018 USL season. Dia won 14 of 21 duels and notched two tackles, two interceptions, and three clearances while helping the club shutout LA Galaxy II on April 11.

His teammate, forward Didier Drogba, received a Team of the Week Honorable Mention for his goal that helped the club beat Los Dos. This is the fourth week out of five that a Phoenix Rising FC player has been recognized by the league. Midfielder Solomon Asante was twice-named a Team of the Week Honorable Mention (Week 1, Week 3) and Chris Cortez was the USL Player of the Week in Week 2.

Phoenix Rising returns home this Saturday, April 21, for a showdown with Swope Park Rangers. It will also be Military Appreciation Night presented by APS and the first 2,500 fans will receive a Phoenix Rising camo drawstring bag courtesy of APS. The match will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. and the gates to the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex will open at 6:00 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at PHXRisingFC.com.
