FC Tulsa News Release

The Tulsa Roughnecks F.C. return to action for the first time in two weeks when it travels to California for its first-ever meeting with Fresno F.C. The Roughnecks will be looking for their first win of the 2018 campaign after picking up one draw in their first four matches this season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CDT at Fresno's Chukchansi Park.

The game marks the first of three straight road matches for TRFC. The Roughnecks will look to correct their early-season offensive troubles after being shut out in three of their first four games. Their only two goals came in a 3-2 loss to the Real Monarchs on March 24 and came courtesy of Joaquin Rivas.

"With the two weeks off, we have gotten a lot of guys healthy, and we have everyone available for the match on Wednesday," said TRFC Head Coach David Vaudreuil.

"It is the first time since February that we have been in that position. We are also bringing in a couple of guys on MLS loans that will give us even more reinforcements."

"The team is in much-better spirits, and we have a lot more options, so we are looking forward to a good game," added Vaudreuil. "It's an important match for us to give us some momentum going into this stretch of three tough road games."

The Roughnecks have added a pair of strikers for the match through the MLS loans. Jon Bakero, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, has joined TRFC from the Chicago Fire. Bakero made his professional debut last Saturday, playing the final minutes of the Fire's 1-0 loss to the LA Galaxy and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Wake Forest University product scored 37 career goals for the Demon Deacons.

The Roughnecks have also added Femi Hollinger-Janzen on loan from the New England Revolution. Hollinger-Janzen has made a total of 32 appearances in MLS during his three-year career with the Revolution, but none this season. The University of Indiana product has two career, MLS goals, both coming during the 2016 season.

Fresno enters Wednesday' match with a 2-1-2 record during its inaugural season in USL. After losing their season opener to Las Vegas, Fresno has not been beaten in its last four matches, going 2-0-2. The record includes a 1-1-1 mark in home matches this year.

It will be TRFC's second road game of the season. The Roughnecks lost their season opener 1-0 in Oklahoma City.

With the USL's newly announced TV package, fans can stream the game live on ESPN+. ESPN is currently offering a free, 30-day preview of the service.

Tulsa's next home match is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9. Tickets for that match, and all other 2018 matches at ONEOK Field, are currently available online, over the telephone at (918)744-5901 or in person at the stadium ticket office.
