(EDMONTON) The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announced today the signing of free agent corner back Brad Franklin.
Franklin was selected in the seventh round (47th overall) in the 2002 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. After his release by the Panthers in August 2003, he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars and appeared in 4 games before being released in October. Franklin was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks in January 2004 and was assigned to the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe. Franklin attended the Seahawk's training camp this season and was a late cut.
Franklin is a graduate of Louisiana-Lafayette, played in 42 games during his four-year college career and recorded 107 tackles with three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and eleven knockdowns.
