Eskimos release Younger and Bakker

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have released import defensive back Jordan Younger and non-import offensive lineman Tim Bakker, the club announced today.

Younger recorded 52 tackles and 8 pass knock downs in 16 regular season and two playoff games in 2008, his first year with the Esks. He was acquired from Toronto February 16, 2008 in exchange for running back Tyler Ebell and receiver T.J. Acree.

Bakker spent six of his nine CFL seasons with Edmonton. He dressed for 18 regular season and two playoff games in 2008. The Western Ontario product was Edmonton's first selection (third overall) in the 2000 CFL Canadian Draft. He was traded to BC in 2003. The following year he signed as a free agent with Hamilton where he spent two seasons. Bakker was reacquired by Edmonton in 2005.
