Richardson signs four-year deal

Montreal, Jan. 7, 2009 - Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp is pleased to announce that 2008 CFL All-Star receiver Jamel Richardson has signed a three-year contract plus an option year with the team.

"We are excited that Jamel has decided to forgo the NFL and stay with the Alouettes," said Jim Popp. "He has become an instant impact player for us and throughout the CFL. We are looking forward to him bringing many more years of excitement to the city of Montreal."

Named an East Division, CFL and CFLPA All-Star, Richardson set a team record last season with 16 touchdowns on 98 receptions and led the Alouettes with of 1,287 receiving yards.

A five-year CFL veteran, he will turn 27 this Jan. 22.
