JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Suns committed six errors and allowed four home runs in a 9-4 loss to the Orlando Rays in front of 3,681 fans Tuesday afternoon at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Suns starter Heath Totten gave up all four home runs, including two hit by Jonny Gomes. Gomes hit a solo shot in the second and a two-run home run in the third inning. Frank Moore homered off Totten in the second inning and Matt Diaz smacked a three-run blast off the right field catwalk in the fifth inning. Totten (3-4) earned the loss, allowing eight runs in 4-1/3 innings.

Moore had four hits and Gomes had three, including an infield double on a pop-up that bounced untouched between shortstop and third.

Though the Suns trailed 4-0 after three innings on three home runs, they rallied to score three times off Rays starter Brian Stokes in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Derek Michaelis walked, scoring a run. Reggie Abercrombie and Tony Socarras followed with sacrifice flies to pull the Suns (17-21) to within 4-3. However, Diaz's home run and a throwing error by Socarras allowed the Rays (16-22) to score four times in the fifth. That run support boosted Stokes (2-4) to the victory in his six-inning effort.

Socarras hit his second home run of the year in the sixth, a solo shot to right to pull Jacksonville to within 8-4. Moore hit an RBI double in the seventh to finalize the scoring.

The Rays committed three errors as well in addition to the Suns' six, but neither team often benefited from the miscues. Only four of the 13 total runs were scored as unearned.

Victor Diaz had three hits – all doubles – to lead the Suns.

The Suns will utilize an off-day Wednesday and travel to Greenville, S.C., to face the Braves at 7:15 p.m. Thursday from Municipal Stadium. Right-hander Edwin Jackson (1-2, 2.79 ERA) is scheduled to face Braves righty Adam Wainwright (2-2, 2.60).
