ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves continue their final homestand of the 2008 season as they take the field in the middle game of a three-game series against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) at Jerry Uht Park. The SeaWolves have won six straight games and are coming off a comeback win against the Senators on Tuesday when they scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth with two outs for a 4-3 victory. The 'Wolves have one winning streak longer than six games and that was a seven-game winning streak August 5-12. Since the all-star break, the 'Wolves are 27-12 and the team is in fourth place in the Southern Division, 15 games behind first place Bowie. Erie is also 18-5 in the month of August. The 'Wolves can finish at or above the .500 mark if the club goes 5-1 or 6-0 over the final six games of the season...SeaWolves infielder Will Rhymes has been transferred to Triple-A Toledo. Erie's roster now stands at two players short. Rhymes leaves the club five hits shy of tying Omar Infante's all-time single season hit total of 163...Lefty Danny Christensen takes the mound for the SeaWolves, making his 26th start of the season and his fourth against the Senators. He is 0-2 with a no-decision in three starts vs. Harrisburg. In his last outing, Christensen picked up a career-best seventh win going seven innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts against New Britain. The 'Wolves are 3-0 in the last three and 5-1 in the last six games started by Christensen. He enters tonight's game 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA in four starts in August...Erie needs to win one of the final two games of this series to take the season series against Harrisburg.
