Curve and Aeros postponed

AKRON, OH- Due to consistent heavy rain throughout the afternoon and early evening and with an unfavorable forecast for the rest of the night, Wednesday's Altoona Curve game at Akron was postponed. The Curve and Aeros (Cleveland Indians) will make up the contest as part of a 6:05 p.m. doubleheader Thursday at Canal Park.

Thursday's twinbill will mark the Curve's final two road games of the 2008 season. Altoona is expected to throw Wednesday's scheduled starter, left-hander Kyle Bloom (5-7, 4.17), in game one and righty Jared Hughes (2-1, 3.81) in the nightcap. Akron is expected to counter with right-hander Frank Herrmann (10-6, 4.01) in game one and southpaw Ryan Edell (6-8, 3.96) in game two.

Fans can hear all the action of Thursday's doubleheader on the Curve Radio Network and on-line at AltoonaCurve.com starting at 5:50 with the Curve GameDay Show presented by the Hotel Belmar and Budget Beverage.

Altoona will finish the 2008 season with a four-game series against the Reading Phillies starting Friday at Blair County Ballpark.
