ALTOONA - With many area schools starting classes early this week, the Altoona Curve would still like to offer students of all ages a taste of summer while it still remains.
The final homestand of the year will take place from Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1 when the Curve entertain the Reading Phillies and is sure to be packed with a bevy of family-friendly promotions and great entertainment.
With that in mind, the Curve are offering special $3 tickets for students of all ages as part of their Back-to-School Curve ticket special. Whether a kindergartener or a college a college student, tickets in the grandstand seats or in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction (outfield reserve section) at Blair County Ballpark will cost just three bucks.
Over the four games against the R-Phils, fans can enjoy two spectacular post-game fireworks shows (Friday and Sunday). The Curve will also giveaway their sixth and final Tenth Anniversary Commemorative Photo Ball, featuring J.R. House and Chris Duffy. Saturday will also feature an appearance by Super-Nerd Myron Noodleman. After all games this weekend, fans can run the bases, courtesy of Thomas Chevrolet of Bedford.
Monday's Labor Day game will start at 12:05 p.m. Fans will enjoy watching Curve players emerge from corn stalks just as the players did in the hit movie Field of Dreams. Fans are urged to come hungry on Monday also. Hot dogs will cost just $1 and Curve Burgers will be half price all game long. Throughout Monday's game, fans will be eligible to win great prizes from area businesses during FANdemonium.
