Tonight, the SeaWolves look for a series split as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the final game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Yesterday, the SeaWolves snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Curve, taking the third game of the series 6-4. Seven of the nine games in the season series between Erie and Altoona have been decided by three runs or fewer... Tonight, righty Austin Kubitza makes his 11th start of the season and third against the Curve. Kubitza is 0-1 with a no-decision in his previous two starts against Altoona. He has allowed just two earned runs in 14 innings against Altoona this season. Kubitza earned his second straight win in his last start against Reading on June 3. In the game, he allowed a run on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts in six innings of work. Erie won the game 2-1... RHP Matt Benedict takes the mound for Altoona making his fifth appearance, fourth start and first against the SeaWolves. Benedict earned a win in his last start against New Britain on June 3. In the game, he allowed a run on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts in six innings of work.
