----- Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a five-game series as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in doubleheader action at People's Natural Gas Field. Last night, the SeaWolves and Curve battled through a pair of rain delays and got just one of the two games in of a scheduled doubleheader with Erie coming out on top 3-0. The shutout was Erie's third on the season and first since June 5. Two of the SeaWolves three shutouts have come against the Curve and both involved starter James Avery...Lefty Brian Flynn makes his Double-A debut tonight against Altoona. Flynn was the Tigers seventh round selection of last years draft out of Wichita State University. Flynn began the 2012 season with Lakeland and posted an 8-4 record and 3.71 ERA in 18 starts. Flynn earned a win in his last start with the Flying Tigers on July 16 at Palm Beach. In the game, he tossed seven shutout innings allowing three hits with no walks and six strikeouts. Jared Gayhart takes the mound for Erie in game two making his 27th appearance and first start. Gayhart has made three relief appearances against the Curve and has tossed 5.1 innings allowing a run. He allowed three runs on four hits in his last appearance in 4.1 innings at Binghamton on July 15...RHP Phil Irwin goes for the Curve in game one making his 14th appearance, 13th start and second against Erie. The 'Wolves beat Irwin on May 11. Irwin took a loss in his last start on July 15 at Akron tossing eight innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits...RHP Mike Colla takes the mound for Altoona in game two. Colla makes his 26th appearance and eight start.
