Mankato MoonDogs News Release

MANKATO, Minn.--The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is excited to remind fans of the upcoming promotions including ladies night, cancer awareness night and Mankato Idol featuring Shelby Tweten at Franklin Rogers Park.

On Tuesday, The Frank will be swarming with ladies, as it is our annual Girls Night Out and Diamond Dig presented by Sav More Jewelry. The first 250 female fans will receive a coupon book filled with offers and discounts from local businesses. Also, the first 250 ladies to register online will receive a digging tool and a chance to dig for a 1/2 carat diamond following the game.

On Wednesday, in remembrance of Del Smith, long time season ticket holder, the MoonDogs will be donating part of their ticket revenue to cancer research, while hosting Cancer Awareness Night. Along with donating, the MoonDogs will also put on a fundraiser to help raise money for the cause.

On Thursday, previous American Idol contestant and North Mankato's very own, Shelby Tweten will be present at The Frank to sign autographs, take pictures and sing a few notes. Tweten, who made it to the top 42 contestants on Idol, will lead the MoonDogs in the singing of the National Anthem as well.

The MoonDogs will face the Duluth Huskies for the three game home stretch at The Frank. All games will start at 7:05 p.m. start. Single and season tickets are on sale at the MoonDogs office located at 1221 Caledonia Street.
