Green Bay Rockers News Release

After rain delayed the game for 50 minutes, the Bullfrogs shutout the Mallards en route to an 8-0 victory at Joannes Stadium on Monday night.

The Bullfrogs struck first in the first inning when Brooks Orton came around to score on a Nick Stein strikeout. The ball got away from Madison catcher Bobby Burns, and his through sailed wide of first base, allowing Orton to score from second.

Green Bay added to its lead with a big third inning. Highlighted by a two RBI Justin Seager double, the 'Frogs brought home four runs in the third to extend their lead to 5-0.

The 'Frogs added one more in the fifth and two more in the sixth to finish off the scoring.

Brooks Orton scored three times for the 'Frogs. Nick Stein scored twice. Seager drove in two runs and Duncan McAlpine also had one RBI.

Christian Cecilio (1-0) earned the victory on the mound for Green Bay. After his start of the season last Monday was shortened due to a high pitch count in the first inning, Cecilio went six scoreless innings on Monday night. He allowed four hits, struck out five Mallards batters and walked two.

Bud Jeter pitched two scoreless innings in relief, and Will Landsheft finished off the game with a scoreless ninth.

Game two of the series is tomorrow night at Joannes Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Join us in Frogville for Miller Lite Buck Night! 12 oz. draft Miller Lites are just $1 all night long, presented by Y100. Tickets are still available.
