Enlow Deals Quality Start in Defeat

Springdale, Arkansas - Blayne Enlow pitched six innings allowed two runs on four hits and punched out a season high nine hitters, but it was not enough as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals defeated the Wind Surge 5-1. The Naturals defeated the Surge for the third consecutive game and have won four of five in the series.

The Naturals took advantage of a third inning error and Peyton Wilson delivered a two out RBI single to score the games first run in the third inning. Parker Bates drilled a two out solo home run in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 2-0.

DaShawn Keirsey opened the seventh inning with a solo home run to the cut the lead to 2-1. The Naturals sent nine hitters to the plate in the seventh and tacked on three insurance runs.

Anthony Veneziano improved to 4-1 pitching six shutout innings. Enlow suffered the loss and Noah Murdock earned a three inning save.

Wichita falls to 10-16 and NW Arkansas improves to 14-12 on the season.

NOTES - The 1:57 game time is the shortest of the season. Yoyner Fajardo extended his hitting streak to ten games. Enlow pitched the first quality start of the season for the Wind Surge and the longest outing by a starting pitcher. Brooks Lee snapped a seven-game hit streak.

UPCOMING - The Wind Surge and Naturals will wrap up the series Sunday afternoon at 2:05. The Surge will start RH David Festa against RH Ronald Medrano.
