Iowa Wolves News Release

NEW YORK, October 11, 2011 - The Iowa Energy received the 6th pick in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft lottery, but will have to wait for the 2nd round before they make a pick because Iowa traded its 2011 1st round pick to Bakersfield last year in late season trade.

Iowa will select 26th overall with their own 2nd round pick, and 27th overall after receiving a Texas' 2nd round selection in a separate trade with Bakersfield. In addition to their own 3rd and 4th round picks, the Energy have the rights to Ft. Wayne's 4th round pick, #54 overall.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders won the 2011 NBA Development League's Draft Lottery and will have the first overall selection in the draft. The lottery took place in Denver, CO today at the League's annual coaches meetings.

The NBA D-League Draft will be held Thursday, November 3. Iowa is planning a Draft Party for fans that night, with details to be announced shortly.

"The Draft Lottery tips off the NBA D-League's 11th season in which our regular season begins as planned November 25," said NBA D-League President Dan Reed.

The NBA D-League Draft utilizes a "serpentine" format, meaning the order will alternate in each of the eight rounds. For example, the team picking last in the first round will select first in the second round, giving them the 16th and 17th overall choices.

Season tickets for the Energy are on sale starting at just $199 per seat. For more information, visit www.IowaNBA.com or call 564-8550.

The order of the first round will be:
