BayHawks Get 7th and 9th Picks in Upcoming D-League Draft

Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, October 11 - The Erie BayHawks, presented by LECOM, secured the 7th and 9th overall selections in the upcoming NBA Development League Draft to be held on November 3. The draft order was determined today by random drawing at the League's annual coaches meetings in Denver, Colorado. Los Angeles secured the Draft's number one overall pick.
The BayHawks hold the rights to two first-round selections as a result of a mid-season trade last season with the Idaho Stampede that sent guard Cedric Jackson to the Stampede in exchange for Idaho's first-round spot this season.

Successive rounds follow a serpentine format. Erie also has two second round picks (26th and 29th overall) as a result of another trade last season that sent guard Maureece Rice to the Sioux Falls Skyforce in exchange for their second round slot this season.
During last season's draft the BayHawks selected forward Ivan Johnson with the 15th pick in the first-round. Johnson led the team in points (22.6) and rebounds (7.8) and was a starter in the mid-season D-League All-Star game.
The BayHawks open Training Camp on November 10 at the LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center. The team will see its first action when Erie hosts Fort Wayne and Canton for a three-team pre-season exhibition at Penn State-Behrend's Junker Center on November 19 beginning at 6:30 pm.
The BayHawks open the regular season on the road as they travel to Rio Grande Valley for two games, November 25 and 26. Erie's first regular season home game is set for Thursday, December 1 at 7 pm at the Tullio Arena when the BayHawks face the Maine Red Claws.
