Tulsa 66ers News Release

TULSA, Okla., Oct. 11, 2011 - The Tulsa 66ers received the 11th overall pick in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft via lottery at the League's annual coaches meetings in Denver Tuesday evening. Additionally, the 66ers received the 16th overall pick in the first round from the Springfield Armor to complete a 2010 trade. The draft will be held on Nov. 3.

Tulsa will also select 22nd, 34th, 43rd, 54th, 75th, 86th, 107th and 118th. The 66ers 34th pick in the third round was earned in a 2010 trade with the Austin Toros.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders received the first overall pick. The Austin Toros secured the second selection, while the Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Texas Legends round out the top five.

The NBA D-League Draft utilizes a "serpentine" format, meaning the order will alternate in each of the eight rounds. For example, the team picking last in the first round will select first in the second round, giving them the 16th and 17th overall choices.

"The Draft Lottery tips off the NBA D-League's 11th season in which our regular season begins as planned November 25," said NBA D-League President Dan Reed.

The Tulsa 66ers open the 2011-12 NBA D-League season on the road Nov. 25 at Idaho. Season tickets for all 24 home games this season, including the home-opener against the Austin Toros on Dec. 3, are now on sale by calling the 66ers ticket office at (918) 585-8444.
