DES MOINES, IA (Jan. 31, 2013) - The Iowa Energy have named Bruce Wilson head coach for the remainder of the season. Wilson was named interim head coach on January 21st after former head coach Kevin Young's departure.

"I'm very thankful for the opportunity the Energy franchise has provided me," said Wilson. "I have been a part of some great teams, including our championship season here in Iowa, and I'm looking forward to getting back to the winning tradition that this organization is so well known for."

Prior to his stint as an assistant coach with the Energy, Wilson spent 25 years as head coach of Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He was also an assistant at Gonzaga University where he coached NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton.

"Bruce has done a nice job with the transition, and he has earned this opportunity. In a short period of time, he has put his imprint on this team and the players are responding in a very positive manner," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris.

The Energy host Springfield Friday and Saturday, with both games starting at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available by calling 515-564-8550, visiting www.IowaNBA.com or stopping by the arena box office.

Saturday's game is the Energy's annual "70's Night" and features a halftime performance from the Russian Bar Trio.
