BAKERSFIELD, January 30, 2013 - Despite a game-high of 26 points by Jerel McNeal, the Bakersfield Jam (17-9) dropped a 107-99 contest to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (9-15) Wednesday night at the Toyota Sports Center.

Bakersfield started the game with good offense and defense as they shot 50% from the field and held Los Angeles to just 37%, resulting in a double-digit lead to end the first quarter (31-21). Then, momentum swung completely in the second period as the D-Fenders outscored the Jam 31-20 and ended the half with a 52-51 lead. Both teams scored 27 points in the third to keep it a one-point game heading into the final period. However, the D-Fenders pulled away in the fourth and defeated the Jam for the first time this season (4-1).

Renaldo Major scored 17 points while Adam Koch had 16 points and seven rebounds. James Nunnally contributed 12 points off the bench.

The D-Fenders were led by Zach Andrews (22 points, 13 rebounds), Gary Flowers (21 points) and Elijah Millsap (19 points).

Bakersfield will travel back home to take on the Austin Toros twice, starting on Friday, February 1 and then on Saturday, February 2. Both games set to tip-off at 7 p.m. PT.
