BISMARCK, ND, Mar. 8, 2009 - The Dakota Wizards overcame a 15 point fourth quarter deficit to defeat the Iowa Energy 123-116 in overtime Sunday in Bismarck. With the win, Dakota moves to within 1.0 games of Iowa at the top of the D-League's Central Division.

The Energy, in the midst of a five game road trip, led for most of the game and appeared to be in control with a 105-90 lead with 6:08 left in the 4th quarter. Dakota then went on an 18 to 3 run over the next four minutes to tie the game. The two teams traded baskets in the final minutes of regulation with both squads missing shots in the final thirty seconds.

With 1:21 left in the overtime session and Dakota up by two, Iowa's Courtney Sims was called for an offensive foul, giving the ball back to the home team. After a Dakota miss, Iowa's Denham Brown was called for a loose ball foul. In response to the call, Sims was tagged with a technical foul. The resulting free throws put Iowa away for good.

Former Iowa State Cyclone Curtis Stinson led the Energy with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Sims added 25 points and 8 rebounds while Othyus Jeffers finished with 24 points and 7 rebounds.

Dakota was led by Maurice Baker, who finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds.

Iowa travels to Albuquerque for a matchup Tuesday before heading to Tulsa on Thursday.
