Frisco, TX March 6, 2014 - The Iowa Energy fell to the Texas Legends on Thursday night in Texas 126-119.
The Energy started out hot, leading the Legends 27-22 after the first quarter. Othyus Jeffers had 10 of his 12 points in the first quarter.
Texas came surging back in the second, outscoring the Energy 40-31 and took a four point lead into the half.
The third quarter belonged to Texas, causing turnovers and grabbing rebounds. Texas out-rebounded Iowa 50-36 on the night, with 22 of those being offensive rebounds. The Legends led 95-82 heading into the final quarter.
Iowa stormed back in the fourth quarter. Led by Chris Allen and Austin Freeman, the Energy started the quarter on a 21-6 run to take a 103-101 lead. The Legends surged down the stretch to pull away with the 126-119 victory and continue their winning streak. Texas improves to 19-22 on the season while Iowa falls to 21-14.
The Legends were led by Damion James, who had 34 points and 19 boards. Ricardo Ledo added 21 points and James Nunnally finished the night with 15 points.
Iowa was led by Washington Wizards assignee Glen Rice Jr. He finished the night with 18 points. Chris Allen had 18 points off the bench and Austin Freeman added 17 points.
