
Energy Acquire Marqus Blakely & Stanley Robinson in Separate Trades

DES MOINES, IA, January 24, 2011- The Iowa Energy today acquired forwards Marqus Blakely and Stanley Robinson in separate trades with the Bakersfield Jam and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Blakely, a 6'6" forward, averaged 13.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in 25 contests with the Bakersfield Jam. The University of Vermont product won the 2010 NCAA Slam Dunk Contest before playing this preseason with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Energy traded their 2011 1st round draft pick in exchange for Blakely.
Robinson was obtained from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in exchange for forward Connor Atchley. Robinson was the 59th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. Robinson played three games with Rio Grande Valley this season before being sidelined due to injury. The 6'8" forward played his college ball at the University of Connecticut. As a senior at UCONN, he averaged 14.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
