Sioux Falls, S.D. (January 3, 2007) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they will host the Empire Mall Star Search competition on Saturday, January 13, at 1:00 p.m. Interested parties can contact the Skyforce office at 332-0605 to reserve a spot in the opening round which will take place next to Macy's inside the Empire Mall.
The Skyforce is looking for any talented individuals/groups such as dancers, singers, jugglers, magicians, contortionists, etc. Contestants will be competing for a $1,000 cash prize and a $500 gift certificate from the Empire Mall. Four acts from the first round will be invited to perform at halftime during two Skyforce games in February and the best act from each night will meet in the finals at halftime on Thursday, March 1. The individual/group that wins the competition will be invited back for one final performance at halftime on Friday, March 23.
"The Star Search competition is a great event and a fun partnership for us," said Empire Mall Marketing Manager Chrissy Spoo. "It gives The Empire Mall the unique opportunity to host an event that showcases some of the Sioux Empire's amazing talent and gives Skyforce fans an opportunity to be a part of a great halftime program."
The Sioux Falls Skyforce next home game is on Saturday, January 6, against the Tulsa 66ers. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena. For information on season and single game tickets please call a Skyforce representative at (605) 332-0605.
