
Emeralds Shine Too Bright For Vancouver On Sunday

Eugene, OR- For a third straight night, the Vancouver Canadians offense was held in check as Eugene never trailed on Sunday out at PK Park, topping the C's 6-2.
The Canadians struck out 12 times against a combination of six Emeralds arms as starter Pedro Silverio whiffed five over his three innings of work. Marc Huberman would record the victory, while Vancouver starter Michael Ellenbest suffered his third loss against no wins in 2016.
After falling behind by three, the Canadians managed a pair of runs in the top of the 6th inning as D.J. McKnight hit a triple that scored both Christian Williams (single) and Bryan Lizardo (double). Vancouver would finish the night 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and are now 4-for-31 with RISP over the past three games.
With the loss, Vancouver falls to 4-6 (.400) on the second half of the season, while Eugene powers forward to 5-5 (.500). The Canadians are two games back of Division leading Everett who Vancouver will return home to face (Aug 9-11) after tomorrow's finale in Eugene, set for 7:05pm.
Luis Sanchez (1-2, 3.28) will get the ball for Vancouver in hopes of avoiding a fourth straight loss to the Emeralds who with Sunday's win, improved to 8-1 (.889) against the C's this season.
