Salt Lake Bees News Release

El Paso rallied from an early 3-0 deficit, as the Chihuahuas downed the Salt Lake Bees 6-4 on Wednesday night.

Salt Lake jumped ahead in the first inning on a two run single by Chris Carter and he scored later in the inning, as he stole home as part of a double steal. El Paso came back to tie the game with three runs in the third off of Salt Lake starter Osmer Morales on an RBI double by Dusty Coleman and a two run single by Diego Goris. The Chihuahuas loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth, but Morales retired the next two batters before Franmil Reyes delivered a two run single to put El Paso ahead to stay. At one point, El Paso starter Chris Huffman (2-1) retired 15 batters in a row.

Down 6-3 in the eighth, an RBI single by Jose Miguel Fernandez pulled the Bees to within two and a single by Eric Young, Jr. loaded the bases with one out, but Ryan Schimpf struck out swinging and Juan Graterol lined out to left. Morales (1-1) took the loss, as he went just three and two-third innings and allowed five runs on nine hits. The bullpen kept the Bees in the game, as Ralston Cash, Adam Hofacket and Jordan Jankowski combined to allow only one run in four and one-third innings. Graterol had the only multiple hit game for Salt Lake with a pair of singles. Carter had one hit and two runs batted in and Fernandez one hit and one RBI.
