Reno Aces News Release

Today's Game: Reno looks to bounce back after taking a 5-3 loss at the hands of the River Cats last night at Raley Field. Former D-backs' number one prospect Braden will take the mound for the Aces searching for his third win of the season. On April 26, 2016, Braden Shipley tossed seven innings for Reno, allowing just three hits and striking out eight Fresno Grizzlies. Two current Aces also made appearances that night - Silvino Bracho and Jake Barrett.

About Last Night: The Aces got into the scoring column early with a single run in the top of the first inning. Sacramento responded with one in the bottom of the first and four in the fifth inning. Unfortunately for Reno, they would only go on to score two in the seventh. The loss brings Reno to a record of 6-14, eight games back of first place in the Pacific Northern Division. The Aces have yet to win a game on Wednesday's this season (0-3).

Doinked: Daniel Robertson reached base all four times tonight despite only recording one hit. Robertson drew a walk and was hit by a pitch twice. Robertson has been hit by a pitch 55 times in his career but has never done it twice in the same game. In 2009 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps, Robertson set a career-best with 12 HBP.

Over Mendoza: Kristopher Negron got off to a rough start in 2018. The veteran Utility player entered last night's contest 5-for-30 in his last 10 games. Last night, the Northern California Native went 3-for-5, raising his average to .206 this season. In 2017, Negron hit .300 in 120 games for Reno and was recalled by the Arizona Diamondbacks during their playoff run.
