June 14, 2016 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - It was an offensive explosion for the Bullfrogs as they beat the Kalamazoo Growlers 18-1 last night. The offensive attack was led by, Brian Lees (Southeast Missouri State), Colton Onstott (Dodge City Community College), and Chad Mabini (Western Carolina). Combined they hit six home runs, had 11 hits, and drove in 10 runs. Mabini was named the Northwoods League Hitter of the Night.

The offense got started in the bottom of the second inning. Onstott led off with a single, followed by a double off the right field fence by Jonah Davis (UC-Berkeley). Chad Mabini got the third straight hit of the inning plating Onstott for the Bullfrogs first run. Laren Eustace (Indiana University) hit a sac fly to take the lead for the Bullfrogs, a lead they would not give up.

The Bullfrogs power surge continued as they hit eight home runs in last night's ball game. The Bullfrogs went back to back in the third. Onstott hit his second home run in as many games as he sent one over the right field fence and newcomer Brian Lees followed with a home run of his own. Lees went on to hit two more home runs in last night's game, a two run home run in the fifth and a solo shot in the ninth.

In the top of the eight, the Bullfrogs exploded. Mabini stepped up to the plate with runners at first and second, already having blasted a home run in the sixth, the second baseman hits a three run home run to push the Bullfrogs lead to 12-1. The inning didn't end there as the Bullfrogs got runners on first and second again. Matt Hoeg (Iowa Western Community College) sent a belt high fastball over the left center fence for the second three run homer of the inning. Laren Eustace (Indiana) added to the Bullfrogs home run total as he hit his second home run of the season in the ninth. All said and done, the Bullfrogs scored 18 runs on 21 hits.

In all the offensive fireworks, Luke Lind pitched himself a gem. The junior out of North Dakota State quieted the Growler bats as he gave up one run on five hits. Finished the game going seven straight scoreless innings. Lind pitched like the captain of the pitching staff last tonight. As the staff struggled the past few games, the veteran came out and pitched the best game for the Bullfrogs all season. BJ Sabol (Indiana) closed the game out for the Bullfrogs as he pitched a scoreless ninth.

Matt Brawley (Kellogg CC) got the start for the Growlers as he went five innings, allowing eight runs on 12 hits. Offensively, the Growlers were led by third baseman Sam Griggs as he scored one run and had two hits.

The Bullfrogs head to Kenosha for a two game series starting today. Austin Hancock (Lenoir Rhyne University) will get the start for the Bullfrogs. Looking for his first win of the year, Hancock currently has a 0.00 ERA. He looks to build off of the strong start of Luke Lind last night. The offense is starting to gain a lot of momentum and confidence and yesterday's ballgame was only the beginning for the Bullfrogs. First pitch is at 7:05pm.

For the Kingfish, they send Charlie Hecht to the mound. He faced the Bullfrogs back on June 2nd and got the win as he threw seven scoreless innings.
