
Edmonton Oil Kings Announce 2022-23 Regular Season Schedule

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings will begin their defence of the Ed Chynoweth Cup on Friday, September 23 when they host the Red Deer Rebels in their home opener at Rogers Place.
The Oil Kings will also be raising their 2021-22 WHL Championship banner to the rafters that night.
The 2022-23 schedule will once again see the Oil Kings play 68 games with 34 games on home ice at Rogers Place and 34 games on the road.
The Oil Kings will finish the regular season with a home-and-home against the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26. The 2023 WHL Playoffs are slated to begin on Friday, March 31.
The 2022-23 schedule features the return to inter-conference play with all five B.C. Division teams visiting Rogers Place for the first time since the 2018-19 season and the Oil Kings embarking on a U.S. Division road trip starting on Friday, October 7 in Spokane against the Chiefs, and concluding with a 2022 WHL Championship Series rematch in Seattle with the Thunderbirds on Friday, October 14.
The Oil Kings most frequent opponent are the Red Deer Rebels as they clash nine times with their QEII rivals (5 home, 4 away). The Oil Kings and Calgary Hitmen will go head-to-head in eight WHL Battles of Alberta (4 home, 4 away). Rounding out their Central Division schedule, the Oil Kings will play the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Medicine Hat Tigers six times each (3 home, 3 away), while taking on the Swift Current Broncos five times (2 home, 3 away).
The remainder of the Oil Kings Eastern Conference schedule has them taking on all six East Division opponents four times (2 home, 2 away).
Of the Oil Kings 34 home games this coming season, 26 of them will be played on Fridays (12), Saturdays (7) and Sundays (7).
