Bloomington Edge News Release

Bloomington, IL, 5/3/12 - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, fell 69-56 to the Blizzard at Green Bay last week but they will have a quick chance at revenge. The two will play again this Saturday at 7:05 pm at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The Edge are 7-2 while the Blizzard are 6-2.

The Edge had been on a seven game winning streak before last week's loss. The last time they lost a game was back in week one at the Chicago Slaughter. The seven game win streak is the longest single season winning streak in Edge history. The previous streak was six games won by the Extreme in 2010. The longest multiple season streak was nine games at the end of the 2010 season and beginning of 2011. Now that the streak is snapped the Edge will be looking to start a new winning streak.

The Edge were fighting an uphill battle all night last Saturday. Green Bay opened the scoring and the Edge responded. But every time the Edge scored the Blizzard would respond and sometimes with two scores. The only back to back scores of the game for the Edge came in the 2nd quarter of the game when they scored three straight times. The Edge showed their character by never backing down even until the dying seconds of the game. They will have to fight hard once again this week to avenge last week's game.

After this week the Edge only have four regular season games left. That will start on May 18 when the Edge travel to Cedar Rapids to play the Titans. The two teams will only meet one other time this season when the play in Bloomington on the last week of the regular season.
