ECHL Announces Fine, Suspension

January 12, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release


PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Saturday announced that Alaska's Chris Clackson has been suspended pending a review and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #423, Ontario at Alaska, on Jan. 11

Clackson was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross checking under Rule #59.5 at 7:10 of the first period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Clackson will miss Alaska's game against Ontario tonight (Jan. 12) and will have a hearing with ECHL Hockey Operations next week.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
