Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - The "old ball game" may have peanuts and crackerjacks, but Young Arena will have far more satisfying choices - including new menu options - when the Waterloo Black Hawks take the ice for the first time during the 2018/19 season on Saturday night versus the Green Bay Gamblers.
"Fans are really going to love these new flavors. I would like to thank our partners at Young Arena and Waterloo Leisure Services for their enthusiasm in bringing these new items to Black Hawks fans," said Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. "We talk a great deal about the 'fan experience;' obviously, taste is one of the five senses, and with Young Arena, we are working hard to make sure that sensory part of the experience is evolving with new options."
The most noticeable addition will be the arrival of a new Hy-Vee concession window on the north side of the rink. Those visiting this stand can enjoy Hy-Vee's signature bratwurst varieties and smoked macaroni and cheese.
In 2017/18, the Arena featured a southwest burrito concession area for the first time. This season, the menu there has expanded to also include quesadillas, as well as queso cheese sauce.
The Young Arena Grill at ice level on the east side of the building - another new addition in recent seasons - is also sporting menu additions. New this year: pork tenderloin sandwiches and mini tacos.
The Black Hawks also invite fans to purchase special tickets for three "All You Can Eat" nights:
Thursday, October 18th vs. Youngstown Phantoms (7:05 p.m.)
Thursday, January 24th vs. Omaha Lancers (7:05 p.m.)
Tuesday, April 2nd vs. Sioux City Musketeers (7:05 p.m.)
For $32 during these games, fans participating in this special promotion will receive access to the Budweiser Hospitality Area where they can enjoy unlimited hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, potato chips, cookies, and soft drinks through the end of the second period. Those aged 21 and older will have the option to enjoy two beers as part of the promotion. Season ticket holders who already have seats can participate for $23.
Concession items associated with the "All You Can Eat" promotion may not be removed from the Budweiser Hospitality Area. "All You Can Eat" ticket sales will cease at 5 p.m. on the night of the game.
For tickets to the Black Hawks' home opener versus the Green Bay Gamblers or any other 2018/19 game at Young Arena, call the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680.
