Eastwood Honored, Game Tomorrow

Amarillo, TX - The Central Hockey League has announced Amarillo Gorillas Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting Cody Eastwood as the league's December "Employee of the Month".

"Cody is a valuable part of our team in Amarillo," echoed Gorillas General Manager Robert Simmons. "He and our staff have worked extremely hard to provide a quality product for our fans in the Panhandle this year."

Eastwood joins Box Office Director Michelle McFadden as the two employees who have won the monthly award as a Gorilla the past two seasons.

Eastwood is in his first season as the Gorillas' Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting. Prior to this season, the Houston, Texas native has done broadcasting work for the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League, the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, and the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League. An Eagle Scout, Eastwood has also worked for ESPN Radio in Dallas and Houston, ABC Radio Networks, Fox Sports Southwest, and the Sun Belt Conference. Eastwood earned his Associate of Arts degree in Spanish from San Jacinto College and his Bachelor's degree in Radio/Television/Film from the University of North Texas.

The Gorillas will finish their three-game series with Colorado this Wednesday, January 27th from the "Centennial State". Listen to Cody Eastwood call the game broadcast starting at 7:55pm CST and can be followed on 1440 AM ESPN Radio and CHL-TV. Fans will have an opportunity to win tickets to the circus during the second period of the game broadcast by answering a trivia question on the Gorillas' Facebook page.
