Odessa's Jean Bourbeau Wins Weekly Award

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Odessa Jackalopes forward Jean Bourbeau has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week. The second-year player wins the award after he scored the game winning goal with his team shorthanded with just six seconds remaining in regulation in Odessa's 4-3 win at Corpus Christi.

The Bonnyville, Alberta native received just under 50% of the votes netting 1900 nods during the weekly poll finishing ahead of Colorado's Adam Hogg who scored two goals in the first few minutes of the Eagles 5-4 win versus Bossier-Shreveport on January 16. Hogg earned 1,656 of the 3,911 votes cast in the poll.

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week 15 of the season for the period beginning on January 18 and ending on January 24 are as follows:

-Texas' Kevin McLeod scoring the game's lone goal in the Brahmas 1-0 shootout win over Corpus Christi on January 23

-Tulsa spoiling the Wichita Thunder's first game in the INTRUST Bank Arena with a 2-1 win on January 23

-Allen's Justin Bowers notching five assists in his team's 5-1 win over Bossier-Shreveport on January 23

-Rapid City's Luke Erickson scoring two third period goals in his team's 3-2 win over Amarillo on January 19

-Laredo scoring four times in the third period of their 5-3 win at Rapid City on January 23

Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, February 2 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, February 3.
