San Jose Earthquakes News Release
The San Jose Earthquakes fell to the LA Galaxy 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Dignity Health Sports Park despite forcing 12 saves by goalkeeper Jonathan Bond. Defender Tommy Thompson, who made his 150th career appearance for San Jose, became the first Homegrown Player in club history to wear the captain's armband.
The Earthquakes are now off for two weeks before traveling to face Austin FC in the first-ever match at Q2 Stadium on Saturday, June 19. The match kicks off at 6:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast nationally on UniMás, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.

Homegrown Pride
Defender Tommy Thompson wore the captain's armband for the first time with the Quakes, becoming the first Homegrown Player in club history to do so.
Club Milestones
Defender Tommy Thompson and midfielder Shea Salinas made their 150th and 300th Earthquakes appearances, respectively. Salinas becomes the second player in club history to reach the milestone.
Stepping In
Midfielder Judson made his first start of the 2021 season, playing 90 minutes.

Earthquakes Announce Broadcast Change for Road Match vs. Orlando City SC
The San Jose Earthquakes announced on Monday that the club's road match vs. Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium on Tuesday, June 22, originally scheduled to be broadcast locally on NBC Sports Bay Area Plus, will now air nationally on UniMás. The match will kick off at 4:30 p.m. PT as originally scheduled.
PayPal Park to host Topgolf Live from August 26-29
PayPal Park, home of the San Jose Earthquakes, will serve as one of the venues in the 2021 Topgolf Live Stadium Tour, hosting the Topgolf experience from August 26-29. The four-day outdoor event marks the first Topgolf event in PayPal Park history. Ticket prices start at $80 per person with a discounted rate available for students. Tee times are reserved in one-hour increments. Premium tickets will also be available for $175, which include access to drink vouchers, a limited-edition Topgolf Live hat provided by Black Clover, a complimentary Topgolf lifetime membership and a game play voucher, redeemable at any U.S. Topgolf location, excluding Topgolf Las Vegas.
