
Earthquakes Forward Ousseni Bouda Obtains U.S. Green Card

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes forward Ousseni Bouda has received a U.S. Green Card and become a permanent resident of the United States. He will no longer occupy an international slot on the Quakes' roster.
Bouda, 22, is entering his second season with San Jose after making nine MLS appearances as a rookie in 2022. He also scored one goal in three U.S. Open Cup appearances, and two goals in three appearances for Earthquakes II in MLS NEXT Pro.
The Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso native was a two-year starter for Stanford University and finished his collegiate career with 10 goals and 14 assists in 39 starts. He then signed a Generation adidas contract with Major League Soccer ahead of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft and was selected eighth overall by San Jose.
The Quakes currently have seven international players under contract for 2023: goalkeeper Daniel; defenders Oskar Ågren, Carlos Akapo, Nathan, Rodrigues and Miguel Trauco; and midfielder Jamiro Monteiro. The Quakes have one international slot available for the 2023 season.
Transaction: San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) - Earthquakes F Ousseni Bouda obtains a U.S. Green Card and no longer requires an international slot on the club's roster.
