
Earthquakes Forward Cristian Espinoza Selected to MLS Team of the Matchday

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes forward Cristian Espinoza has been named to Major League Soccer's Team of the Matchday, formerly known as Team of the Week, for Matchday 35. The MVP candidate has been involved in 24 of the Quakes' 37 goals this season (12 goals, 12 assists).
Espinoza's game-tying assist came after beating a defender one-on-one before completing the cross for defender Paul Marie to score. Espinoza furthered his own all-time Quakes assist record (56 assists) and is currently second in club history for most goal contributions in a single season. He also leads the league in key passes (87).
The MLS Team of the Matchday selection is Espinoza's eighth of the season and 15th since joining the club in January of 2019.
