Early Runs Doom Beach Bums at Windy City

Traverse City Beach Bums News Release
CRESTWOOD, IL - The Traverse City Beach Bums'(39-48) gave up multi-run innings in the first and second, falling to the Windy City Thunderbolts(37-51) by a final score of 7-1.
In the 1st, Isaac Benard reached on a throwing error then immediately stole second. Will Kengor drove him home with a single to center for a 1-0 Bums lead. In the bottom of the inning, Axel Johnson hit a two-run homer then Derek Bangert hit an RBI single for a 3-1 'Bolts lead. They added three more in the second on an RBI single by Tim Zier, then Omar Obregon scored on a wild pitch and Zier scored on a walk for a 6-1 advantage. In the seventh, Bangert hit an RBI single to close the scoring.
Patrick Ledet earned the win for Windy City to even his record at 7-7. He went seven innings, allowing the lone unearned run on three hits and two walks, while striking out seven. Matt Murphy went four innings for the Beach Bums in a losing effort. He gave up six runs, four earned, on eight hits and two walks, as his record dropped to 3-5 on the season.
On Friday night, the Beach Bums make the short trip to Schaumburg, IL, to start their final road series of the season against the Boomers. Quinn DiPasquale gets the start for Schaumburg while Tyler Thornton takes the hill for the Beach Bums.
